What do we do? Well, the truth is we do everything that you and your family need to make sure that after your death, the people you care about are provided for.
During your lifetime we can make sure that your loved ones and trusted ones are the people who have the ability to have a say in your finances and care provision should you be unfortunate enough to lose mental capacity. We do this using Lasting Power of Attorney documents, registered with the Office of the Public Guardian that let you nominate who can do this for you, sign for things on your behalf.
When you die, we make sure that the things you’ve worked for all your life go to who you want them to go to. At the same time, where possible, we are usually able to protect them from being lost by those people through divorce, Care Home fees or bad debts etc.
We can also help arrange your estate and wills so that, if you’re lucky enough to have an Inheritance Tax problem, your estate pays as little as possible whilst remaining legal.
A basic will can say that you want your house to go to your spouse but if they’re not alive then go to your children. That’s simple and you can do that on our online forms on this website. However, you might want to make sure that your spouse can’t leave it to anyone else whilst they are still alive, e.g. to a new spouse, so we leave the house in a Life Interest Trust which says that your spouse is allowed to live in the house for the rest of their lives, and then, no matter what it says in their will, the house will eventually go to your children on the death of your spouse.
If you like the idea of protecting major assets such as the family home and would like that protection extended to protect the assets down to your children and grandchildren, protecting them from poor marriages etc. then we use a different trust that can last for up to 125 years. It’ll do pretty much the same job without restricting your loved ones use of the assets but keeping them out of means tested benefits etc.
Using correctly worded wills and correctly arranged assets, we can enable families to pass on up to £1 million to their children without any Inheritance Tax, now that’s going to please the kids!

Enough of money, some things are more important than money, people who care for vulnerable children, adult or minors, can protect them, family pets can be protected, Guardians can be nominated if you have children under the age of 18 and you can help your named guardians pay for the keep and education of your children.
Wills are good things to have, it’s not a document that speaks of doom and gloom, it’s a document that says, I love you and I care for you, my Will proves it!
Finally, when you die, there’s admin that needs to be done, collecting assets together, paying your debts, filling out final tax forms etc. We offer a service that does this for you, there’s a cost obviously but it’s probably not as much as you think, if you are an Executor of a will, give us a call and see!
Or you can read about our products and services in greater detail here and please don’t fail to tell people about us when they ask you What do we do?
