If you’ve got 2020 Vision then it’s accepted that you can see well. If you could use that to see into the future what would next year, 2020, hold in store for us all? Or for you in particular?

With the recent election out the way and a strong Conservative Government controlling the House of Commons by a large majority, we’re probably going to see Brexit finally go through and be removed from the discussion table. Many very important issues are lining up to replace Brexit on that table and I’m sure we all hope that they will be dealt with in a caring and helpful way to the benefit of all.

So what does this all mean for your family, your loved ones, your estate and your wills?

There’s too much on Parliament’s plate to allow them time to discuss and decide upon issues such as IHT changes and Probate fee changes.

If you think you have an Inheritance Tax liability and want to discuss it face to face or by telephone feel free to call us. We are able to offer advice and to lay out your options so that you can make an informed decision that best suits your family and wishes.

You may also harbour concerns about your foreign assets, particularly assets held in EU countries, and you may be wondering how the latest round of voting may affect those assets and how they might be dealt with in your wills.

Even after Brexit has occurred you will still be able to use the Brussells IV agreement in your wills, this is because it is an agreement between the countries concerned such as France, Spain, Italy etc. with the EU. The United Kingdom had never signed up to it but has always been able to use it in their wills since it’s inception and this will continue into 2020.
