When someone close to you dies it’s a very difficult time and there’s quite a lot to do as well. We are here to help you through this difficult time and we can do so to any degree that you wish, from just helping you get the right forms filled in to full estate administration. Here’s an overview of the basic first steps:

Immediately following the death the death is confirmed by a Professional then the Deceased is moved to a mortuary or Funeral Directors. Depending on the circumstances of the death, the Doctor usually issues a Medical Certificate or the coroner is informed.

You then need to register the death so that you can collect the paperwork necessary to arrange the funeral.

You also need to locate the deceased’s will.

As well as arranging the Funeral you’ll need to find out who is responsible for dealing with the estate, that will be the Executors of the Will, if they are unsure of what to do from this point onwards, they should come to us and we can step in to help.
