I’m currently reading the latest James Bond novel, Carte Blanche, by Jeffrey Deaver and there’s a character in the book, I can’t remember which one right now, who has a sentimental moment as he looks down at his watch. The comment made is that it was left to him by his son and from this we assume he was killed by the bad guys.
However, there’s a message in that moment for all of us, we need to make sure that the things that we hold close and treasure should be left when we die to people we hold close and treasure, in order to make sure that we do this we need to write such special gifts in our wills.
We never know when we’re going to die so, as the son of the character did, it’s ok to leave items to your parents if they’re still alive, they too may need a keep-sake to remind them of you.
