Property Related Will Questions:
Q. I'm not sure which option to take as my situation is complicated as have three kids and two properties in my portfolio.
A. You can use the forms on this site to ensure that both of your properties go to any or all of your children, if you mention them by address inc. postcode in the gifts section and who the property is to go to then it will be specifically gifted in your will. If the property isn't mentioned in your will specifically but it still constitutes part of your estate when you die then the property will fall under the "Residue" section of your will and will go to whoever you've mentioned there.
Q. If someone has lived together for for over 29 years, never married and have no children and one of us dies leaving no will, but we have had two previouse children from a previous marriage - is the surving partner intitled to make a claim on property over the previous marriages children?
A. It all depends on how you own the property at the moment. If you own the house as Tenants in Common then the deceased's share of the proeprty will follow the rules of intenstacy. If you own the property as joint owners then the surviving owner will own the whole property in their sole name. The best advice is to both make wills that do exactly what you want.
A. Yes you can, our single will form will allow you to say who is to be your executors and who are to be the beneficiaries for all or each asset that you have.
Q. I am a British citizen, but have been a resident of Germany for the last 20 years and I intend to remain in this country. I own property in Germany but my parents have property in the UK and I am a joint beneficiary with my brother of this property. I have made a will in Germany for my estate in Germany but have been told I should make a separate UK will for the property I stand to inherit in the UK. I am single with no children. Could you please advise if I may use your service for such a will.
A. Yes our service will adequately deal with your UK assets, just write in the gifts box that you want the willl to cover your UK assets only and we'll insert the correct clause to ensure that this will doesn't revoke any wills you have in other countries.
